INTERVIEW NO. 18
Lidia Mínguez
Spain

Introduction
I’m Lidia Mínguez, an independent art director and graphic designer from Murcia, Spain, based in Valencia. Although I really like to work with international clients and feel connected to the rest of the world.

How do you describe your work?
I like to take care in each project that I work with, pay attention of the details and specially for typography. I feel attracted to develop projects that have a story to tell. Normally I have a plan when I start each project: I do a brain storming, some drafts, search references and the most important, thinking a lot about the concept to create something different.

A designer o studio you admire?
There’s a lot of great studios from Mexico, specially classics like Anagrama and Savvy, their branding is strong and the artistic approach to introduce each project is so inspiring. As designer I find Marta Veludo’s work interesting in terms of color and pattern exploration. Also I’m constantly searching for new types in foundries, blogs and websites about this.

Could you tell us about any of your projects?
I love to work with brands that are just starting; I find exciting and magic to create something from 0. I start looking for strong concepts to develop the whole identity and how the look and feel and art direction should be.
About my projects, I like the brand statement of the most recent: ’S.Bon’ with a nice concept behind that highlight the role of the designer promoting a conscious fashion brand. I think it’s important as well develop personal projects to show your own ideas and having fun with them, that’s what we did for Diz- Diz, eating pop corn during the shooting! or painting some handmade patterns for Omba. The most important is enjoying your work!
These projects were developed with a creative team for Tatabi Studio.
